The personnel data of 1990-2006 belongs to a large Russian firm operating in the sector of machine and metal works that produces mainly equipment for oil and gas production. The data provide detailed information on workers’ demographic and human capital characteristics, as well as job-related characteristics, which allow for comprehensive analyses of the internal labor market outcomes. The data for analysis to be provided for researchers has been created based on raw data files, which are not publicly available due to confidentiality concerns. The final dataset for analysis has an individual-level panel structure with monthly information for every worker between 1990 and 2006. The final data set consists of three types of information: (i) Personnel registry records that contain information on individuals’ characteristics such as gender, age, marital status, number of children, and education, as well as information on complete work history including entry and exit date of the employment relationship, position at the firm, training received inside and outside the firm, (ii) Monthly wages and hours worked, and (iii) Monthly consumer price index (CPI) that is obtained from external data sources.
